Meet Shirley Shivhon

Ciao! 

My name is Shirley, and I am a yoga and meditation teacher, as well as a Reiki and sound healer.


I grew up on the sunny coastline of Southern California and spent a decade living in Hawaii before following my heart to the hills of Tuscany in 2015.

While living in Los Angeles, I studied and practiced at Maha Yoga in Brentwood, California, where I had the honor of coordinating workshops, events, and yoga retreats for Steve Ross of Inhale Yoga (on the OH network).

In today’s high-intensity, fast-paced world, yoga and meditation have been my go-to tools for managing daily pressures and stress. Over the years, I have completed numerous trainings, including power/vinyasa yoga, meditation, Ashtanga yoga, kids’ yoga, yin yoga, Reiki (level 2), sound healing, various energy work modalities, and a Master’s in Yoga Studies.

I take great joy in teaching both dynamic vinyasa flow classes and gentle, meditative sessions. I design my classes with my students’ specific needs in mind, creating personalized and transformative experiences.

My daily yoga and meditation practices deeply inform both my work and my approach to life. Yoga is more than a practice for me—it is a way of living, moment by moment.

​

Currently, I facilitate private and small group yoga classes in and around Florence, as well as in a selection of luxury hotels throughout Tuscany. I also organize bespoke luxury wellness retreats in Tuscany and serve as a faculty member at one of Florence’s oldest and most renowned higher education institutes, where I currently teach courses on yoga philosophy, mindfulness, Ayurveda, and Eastern religions.

I was very lucky to participate in a retreat in Toscana, organized by Shirley. The entire experience was magical from beginning to end: The location chosen was breath taking, luxurious and serene. The agenda included two Yoga classes every day specifically structured for our group. We had a cooking class and a trip to Siena as well as private time for relaxing. Flawless organization, excellent food and stunning location. What more could anyone ask for?
