Meet Shirley Shivhon
My name is Shirley, and I am a yoga and meditation teacher, and reiki and sound healer. I grew up on the sunny coastline of southern California and spent a decade living in Hawaii prior to following my heart and finding my way to the hills of Tuscany in 2015.
While living in Los Angeles I studied and practiced at Maha Yoga in Brentwood, California where I had the honor of coordinating various workshops, events, and yoga retreats for Steve Ross of Inhale Yoga (on the OH network).
In a high-intensity and fast-paced world, yoga and meditation have always been my favorite tools for dealing with daily pressures and stress
In recent years I have completed many trainings including power/vinyasa yoga, meditation, ashtanga yoga, kids’ yoga, yin yoga, reiki level 2, sound healing ,various energy work modalities, and a Master in Yoga Studies.
I really enjoy being able to teach both a very strong vinyasa flow class or a gentle and deeply meditative class and I like to create my classes with my students’ specific needs in mind.
My daily meditation and yoga practice greatly inform my work as well as my life. Yoga is the way I choose to live my life every moment of every day.
I currently facilitate private and small group yoga classes in and around Florence and in a handful of luxury hotels in Tuscany. I create both personal as well as intimate luxury wellness retreats in Tuscany and I am a faculty member of one of Florence’s leading and oldest higher education institute where I teach yoga philosophy, mindfulness, and eastern religions to Study Abroad students.

I was very lucky to participate in a retreat in Toscana, organized by Shirley. The entire experience was magical from beginning to end: The location chosen was breath taking, luxurious and serene. The agenda included two Yoga classes every day specifically structured for our group. We had a cooking class and a trip to Siena as well as private time for relaxing. Flawless organization, excellent food and stunning location. What more could anyone ask for?
